OBADIAH

The descendants of Esau (brother of Jacob) were the Edomites. They settled in the region southeast of Palestine. They became a tribe that was very hostile to the Israelite people, providing comfort to the Hebrews' enemies on occasion. 

They felt very secure in their cliff-top dwellings, but God warned that he would bring them down. The prophet, Obadiah, also warned other nations of impending judgment.
